Accurate measurements are key to successfully creating reliable digital models of existing volumes.
Scan To BIM has many application possibilities for us in various industries. As a rule, this is laser scanning of objects of reconstruction or renovation and the creation of a 3D model from the data of the point cloud, i.e. a realistic three-dimensional representation of the object. In the future, we will use the model in detailed design and in facility management.
Scan To BIM also helps us evaluate the progress or development options of construction at various stages, collecting accurate and up-to-date data on the actual conditions on the construction site. Validate real models, track project progress, create executive models for constructed structures, or complement missing design data.
The scanning process consists of the following steps:
- data collection with a 3D laser scanner
- returning the received information to the development center
- use of data in the process of creating a BIM model
Some of the benefits of 3D laser scanning:
- сeducing the likelihood of errors in the processes of creating documentation
- creating high-precision 3D digital representation of a building in less time
- quick exchange of information about the object
- collection of geospatial data at the site with high speed and accuracy, in one site visit
Thanks to the accuracy and speed of 3D laser scanning in the process of creating a BIM model, information flows smoothly from site to office, which allows us to create structural models in the shortest possible time.
